Welcoming Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam to the Department of CSE, UAP
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), is pleased to welcome Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam as an Assistant Professor, who joined UAP in January 2026.
Dr. Shafiqul Islam completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh, in 2016 and 2017, respectively. He later earned his Ph.D. degree from Kwangwoon University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 2023, strengthening his academic and research expertise through international exposure.
Following his doctoral studies, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Korea University and Ajou University, South Korea, contributing to advanced research initiatives. Prior to joining UAP, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).
Dr. Shafiqul Islam’s research interests include Human Activity Recognition, Cybersecurity, Digital Signal and Image Processing, and Deep Learning. His academic background and research experience are expected to significantly enrich the teaching and research environment of the department.
