The Research & Publication Unit (RPU) is a student-driven academic body under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Asia Pacific. The unit is dedicated to building a strong research culture among students by promoting innovation, critical thinking, and scholarly development through practical learning and collaborative initiatives.

RPU regularly organizes seminars, workshops, bootcamps, training programs, and research-focused events that help students explore both academic and industry-oriented knowledge. The unit has arranged seminars on emerging technologies such as Web3 and distributed systems, giving students the opportunity to interact with industry experts and understand real-world applications of modern technologies. It has also hosted research methodology and scholarly writing sessions to guide students in literature review, academic writing, and publication processes.

To strengthen students’ technical and analytical skills, RPU conducts hands-on programs like Data Science Bootcamps and Blockchain training workshops, where participants learn programming, machine learning, computer vision, API development, and modern web technologies through structured classes. The unit also collaborates with organizations such as HERWILL to organize workshops that encourage student development, mentorship opportunities, and inclusion in STEM fields.

One of the major initiatives of RPU is organizing research and project showcase events such as the Intra University Research Expo, where students present innovative projects, research ideas, and posters before expert judges. These events create a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, gain feedback, and build confidence in academic presentation. Alongside this, RPU also runs research orientation and methodology training programs to prepare students for their Final Year Design Projects and future academic pursuits.
